Asbestos Consultant/Project Manager
Location York, Escrick (Northern Office)
Salary: £36,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications).

As we develop our Northern office in York, we are looking for an experienced and commercially aware Asbestos Consultant to play a key role in shaping the future of the business in the region.
The Opportunity
The traditional asbestos consultancy model relies on site-based delivery and day-rate margins. While these services remain essential to our business, Allium is also focused on expanding into asbestos remediation, design, and compliance-led services.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Contribute to the growth of a developing regional office
- Tender and project manage various asbestos surveying and air testing projects for a wide-ranging client base and sectors.
- Work directly with clients to develop, quote and deliver asbestos remediation projects with our approved supply chain.
- Support clients and improve compliance with CAR 2012 and CDM 2015
- Help diversify Allium’s downstream service offering, including project delivery and project management roles
The position is well suited to a consultant who is looking to move into a project management role and progress into asbestos remediation projects as well as analytical and surveying projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with senior management to develop the Northern Allium business
- Build and maintain new client relationships.
- Manage asbestos surveying and analytical projects from tender to delivery working with our enquiry and operation teams.
- Improve the delivery and commercial performance of asbestos remediation works
- Increase the volume of remediation projects by working directly with clients
- Assist clients with compliance under CAR 2012 and CDM 2015
- Prepare tenders, employer’s requirements, specifications, and contracts for remediation works
- Undertake site-based asbestos consultancy tasks as required such as site audits, some air testing/surveying if required.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the Northern office

Job Requirements
- Experienced asbestos surveyor/analyst with a strong work ethic and drive.
- P402, P403 and P404 qualified.
- Knowledge of asbestos remediation projects.
- Commercially aware and comfortable engaging with clients
- Able to balance site delivery with project development and office responsibilities
- Proactive, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to a growing regional team
- Driving license.
- Be prepared to travel and stay away on occasion when required to oversee Nationwide projects.
